Northeast Light Alloy Co.,Ltd. (original Northeast Light Alloy Fabrication Plant) is abbreviated to NELA. It is the first aluminium and magnesium alloy fabrication plant in china. It is developed as the two of the 156 major projects which were assisted by original Soviet Union during the first 5-year-plan.NELA was founded in 1952 and put into production in November, 1956. It was reconstructed and become fully state-owned Company in June, 1998.
The existing land areas of NELA are 2.4057 million square meters, among which 2.148 million square meters are for production. Total assets are 2.496 billion yuan. Debt-to assets ratio is 53.4%,Credit level of bank is class A. Existing registered staff are 10379, among which 2396 of engineering managerial personnel. NELA is equipped with different kinds of equipments of 6314 sets, part of them such as pre-stretched machine, hot rolling mill etc. are large size aluminium fabrication equipments which are unusual in China and Asian areas.
NELA is famous for Complete varieties and vast sizes of products. It can produce a great variety of "SWAN BRAND" products ,such as aluminium and its alloy plate ＆ sheet, strip, foil, tube ＆ pipe, rod ＆bar, profile, wire, forging, powders etc. altogether 18 categories, 236 alloys, more than 3000 varieties and 12800 sizes .All the products have passed ISO9002 quality certification system,55 sorts of them have achieved the international standards,58 items have been awarded the Superior-Quality Product Certification for 119 times by Heilongjiang province and higher administration levels, including 4 different state Gold Medals for 7 times and 7 different silver Medals for 13 times,13 items of them have been awarded Golden Dragon Medals of national new products. All the products are awarded famous brand of Heilongjiang. Our products are widely used in various fields like national defense, aviation, aerospace, electron, light industry, chemical industry, textile, architecture, traffic and transportation, agriculture, energy, machinery, etc. Apart from Supplying for Several thousands of domestic customers in more than 30 provinces, NELA also exports its products to 24 countries and regions, including Europe, Southeast Asia, United States, Japan, Korea, etc. Annual incomes of foreign exchange are 17-20 million US dollars.
Since Northeast Light Alloy Fabrication plant put into production, it has made great Contributions to the development of various departments of national defense industry, national economic system and aluminium fabrication industry. The followings in China were all supplied by NELA: light metal materials which are used for the first Chinese airplane, the first atomic energy reactor, the first missile , the first satellite, A-bomb, H-bomb, the first Ocean huge ship, nuclear submarine, carrier rocket, and some important light metal parts on the "Shenzhou" manned Spaceship . By the end of the year 2003, NELA has supplied totally 1.7 million tons of aluminium and magnesium products to the various departments of the national economic system and turned over to the state 1.8billions RMB Yuan of taxes and profits. Untill now, NELA has always beard more than 60% of research task of aluminium and magnesium materials for the main national defense projects. It can not be replaced in terms of its strategy position and function in the national economic construction and the same industry. NELA was approved as State-owned special-large enterprise in 1992 and largest aluminium and Magnesium alloy processing base in China by Developing Centre of State Council in 1995.It enjoys a high reputation of"Silver pillar of china".
